We met with a nurse from Odyssey Healthcare and learned about what it means to be in hospice care -- discovering that it's really not too soon to have them as part of our lives at the beginning of Mom's diagnosis so that they can get to know her in a healthier state and will be able to recognize declines in her health. More information to process and we will certainly be back in touch with them soon.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is wonderful that you all are becoming acquainted with Hospice early. It is an excellent service and unfortunately accessed too late by many. I am glad that they will be a part of this process with our family. They are a multifaceted group and provide, not only medical support but also emotional. Praying daily for healing...physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
